About
Hi my name is Annika Weertz (*1991). I am a freelance portrait and still life photographer based in Germany. After studying history, journalism and technical editing, I was more curious about photographs, so I became a photographer instead.
Alongside my freelance assignments—which span from editorial portraits for magazines and cultural institutions to selected advertising projects—I am committed to personal, long-term projects that allow space for creative and emotional exploration. An essential part of my work is my own vulnerability and the attempt not to explain the world, but to make it tangible. I am a member of VG-Bildkunst, the Fotobus Society and the Female Photoclub.
My personal work has been shown in group and solo exhibitions in Germany, the UK, and the USA.
Currently based between Düsseldorf and Hanover and open to work everywhere.
